Rules of Submission

We accept the best of strange, weird and unusual… and the rules are simple.

  • You must own the legal rights to the film being submitted.
  • Submitted film files may not exceed 8 Gb
  • Film submissions must be accompanied by poster/marketing artwork in .JPG format, not to exceed 2 Mb
  • Your film must not have played within a 200 mile radius from this festival… ever.
  • The film should have been released to festivals and/or public showing within the same year of submission.
  • Submission does not guarantee acceptance. You will be notified if your film has been accepted for festival viewing.
  • If your film is selected for an award, you do not have to be present to receive it. 

Submission Process & Guidelines

  1. Upload your film file to a file-sharing service like Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, WeTransfer, etc., then send a link to marsphotographykc@gmail.com that will allow the file to be downloaded. Please make sure that your file can be downloaded by a third party.
  2. Send your film's marketing artwork/poster .JPG to marsphotographykc@gmail.com - file should not exceed 1200 px on the longest edge, and be 72 dpi. Please include the name of the person entering the film fest and the title of the submitted film when you email your image.
  3. Fill out the film festival submissions form HERE.
    PLEASE NOTE: Completing these 3 steps constitutes agreement to the Rules of Submission.
  4. Pay your submission fee:
  • Short Film Submissions are $25 each and are considered as so as 60 minutes or less.
  • Full Length Feature Films are $35 each and considered as so as 61 minutes or above.  

PLEASE NOTE that your submission is NOT complete until you've completed ALL FOUR of the above steps. Incomplete submissions / submissions that don't follow the stated rules will be discarded.

All submissions are reviewed by a team of professional and indie film makers & distributors.

Those selected are assigned winning categories and a screening spot in the event programming at that time a physical award provided to the winner for the category it was selected.

If you are not able to attend and you win an award, you will be sent an electronic version of it.
